LED Light Therapy
What is LED light therapy?
LED light therapy for the skin is used to reduce inflammation, kill acne bacteria and increase circulation. This is a great treatment for anti-aging and acne. LED light gets converted into energy, or more specifically ATP. This is the form of energy that cells use to power the metabolic processes needed to repair or regenerate cell and tissue components and restore balance.
Who can benefit from LED light therapy?
Due to the low-intensity light source, there is no thermal damage to the skin, and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is not possible, making this a great treatment for all skin types. After a clinical LED session, skin is more luminous, more even and much clearer. LED is a great treatment alone or as an add-on to other services. LED is a great treatment for:
- Active acne
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Increasing blood flow and circulation to the skin
- Reducing inflammation, which in-turn speeds up the healing process after a microdermabrasion, CIT and chemical peels
Are all LED light therapy devices created equally?
No, there are several key considerations when designing an effective LED device. These include proven therapeutic wavelengths, pulsed delivery of the light energy, effective power emission and the ability to emit energy in very close proximity to the skin. That being said, we are proud to use the Celluma Panel. This LED device uses a patented delivery system that emits three specific wavelengths of modulated (pulsed) light controlled by proprietary software algorithms. All three wavelengths work synergistically in each of the Celluma’s programs to optimally address specific conditions. You are benefiting from panel use because your entire face will be receiving the treatment the entire time, unlike some LED’s that only can spot treat.
